Children's Therapeutic Services (CTS)

Redwood Children's Services is an organizational provider for multiple counties offering Specialized Therapeutic or Behavioral Services to children (beneficiaries) who are directly referred through the County Mental Health Departments, Department of Social Services, State Adoptions, and private parties.

RCS provides the following mental health treatment services:

Therapy - Individual, Group, and Family

Psychotherapeutic, behavioral, and other therapeutic interventions consistent with the individual's goals, desired results, and personal milestones which focus primarily on symptom reduction as a means to improving functional impairments.

Rehabilitation Services

Activities which include assistance in improving, maintaining, or restoring a beneficiary's (or group of beneficiaries) functional skills, daily living skills, social & leisure skills, grooming & personal hygiene skills, meal preparation skills, support resources, and/or medication education. Rehabilitation may include group or individualized one-to-one services in the home, community, and other settings, and may include the pick-up ad drop-off of beneficiaries from their homes or school.

Rehabilitation services may include group activities or services on a one-to-one basis.

Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS)

Redwood Children's Services provides Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) to children and youth with serious emotional problems who are experiencing a stressful transition or life crisis. These clients need additional short-term support to prevent placement in a group home Rate Classification Level (RCL) 12 through 14, or locked facility for the treatment of mental health needs, including acute care; or to enable a transition from any of those levels to a lower level of care.

Staffing is available on-site and one-to-one behavioral assistance and interventions to accomplish outcomes specified to the individual's Service Plan. Critical distinction between TBS and other rehabilitative Mental Health Services is having a behavioral specialist on-site and immediately available to the beneficiary for a specified period of time. Designated time periods may vary in length and up to 24 hours per day, depending upon the needs of the beneficiary in his/her Individual Service Plan.
