Treatment and Intensive Treatment Foster Care (ITFC)

RCS provides Treatment and Intensive Treatment Foster Care as well as services for Regional Center clients. RCS is committed to providing premier services for at-risk and special needs children and their families by developing and implementing innovative and unique treatment plans.

RCS Foster Care Programs stress the importance of strong collaborative relationships within the child's "circle of influence".  We hope to help "plant a seed" by making a positive impact.  We create individualized strength based services so that our children and youth may "flourish".

The staff at RCS understands that it is not enough to help the child survive; but instead, our aim is to help them thrive.  We help provide resources to enhance quality in treatment foster care.  RCS provides TREATMENT and INTENSIVE TREATMENT foster care homes in Lake and Mendocino Counties.  Potential foster parents complete an advanced certification program in an attempt to address the complex issues related to providing the necessary care and supervision for special needs children and youth.  Our case managers provide weekly in-home support which includes family meetings, dyads and conflict resolution.  Our clinical staff provides trainings and facilitates strategic and crisis meetings.

Level III and IV Services

The purpose of the Level III and IV Services for Regional Center consumers (clients) is to provide a stable, consistent, qualified environment for these individuals where they receive positive support for their strengths, and nurturing care for their needs.

The program design assures on-going training and professional weekly contact with the foster parents.  The needs of the children and youth in their care can be met in a nurturing family environment as the least restrictive way to meet their physical, mental, and emotional needs.

Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care (MTFC)

The Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care Program is a partnership with Mendocino County Probation Department and Mendocino County Mental Health Department. MTFC targets at-risk teens from the juvenile justice program who benefit from placement with a foster family rather than in a group home or institutional placement. Teens are placed in stable and loving foster homes with foster parents who have received specialized training in Multidimensional Foster Care. MTFC youth are highly supervised in a structured environment that promotes development of new social skills and positive behaviors that help the youth to be successful at home, school and in the community. The MTFC model is a relatively nonrestrictive community based placement program that can be used in lieu of residential or group home care to assist youth in transitioning back to their family.
